The project manager asked us to replicate a stair that he had seen at the REI store in Clackamas Towne Center. We visited REI and took a series of photographs and measurements. It was clear that the components used in the REI stair were much too large to work in the Skyline offices. We replicated the stair as requested, using smaller steel sections and scaling down all other components in proportion to the allotted work space. Staying true to the original design, the mid landing is supported by a single tube steel column centered beneath the landing. We provided the stair to the owner in bare steel, his painters coated it with a clear finish.
